Red is a modern modal editor for people who think in Vim. It includes language server support for completion, go-to-definition, rename, diagnostics, and inlay hints. Red uses Tree-sitter for syntax-aware editing with bundled grammars.
It has a built-in theme gallery that can be browsed and previewed live without restarting. Red is distributed as a single binary for macOS, Linux, and Windows. The editor integrates with Codex for agent edits that are reviewed before applying.
Red is MIT licensed and built in Rust.
