Open-Science is an open-source, local-first, model-agnostic AI research workbench for scientific discovery. It runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux. It includes 24 built-in Scientific Connectors covering various scientific resources.
It provides persistent Python and R kernels, stateless shell execution, and supported remote SSH compute. It supports multiple model providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI via subscriptions or custom gateways. It is distributed under the Apache License 2.0 and does not require a seat license.
By default it stores project data locally on the user's computer. It preserves research outputs as versioned artifacts linked to their creation evidence.
