MCPProxy is a local-first, open source MCP proxy that sits between AI clients and MCP servers, giving agents tools while keeping control through configuration, access, security, visibility, and automation. It lets users manage servers once, choose which servers each agent can reach, review tool changes, and scope access using profiles and scoped, revocable agent tokens. It provides a shared MCP endpoint so existing AI clients can connect via supported transport and authentication.
It offers three interfaces: a Web UI, a macOS menu bar, and a CLI, each for managing servers and inspecting routed tool activity. It provides tool security via quarantine, tool-change review, scanning, sensitive-data detection, and schema checks. The proxy can operate with OS keyring-backed secrets for sensitive data.
