BitRouter routes requests across models to reduce inference costs. The router is open-source and licensed under Apache 2.0, allowing users to inspect, fork, and self-host it. BitRouter can be run in either self-hosted mode or as a managed cloud service.
The routing policy can change the underlying model or reasoning level as the workflow changes. BitRouter exposes an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, so agents can integrate without changing their code. It provides measured evidence of cost savings through a benchmark, but does not guarantee universal savings.
BitRouter Cloud adds managed provider network, consolidated billing, and hosted request receipts beyond the open-source core.
