Get the latest published\nversions with
npm view <pkg> version
.
\n
Step 2: Understand the versioning model
\n

@pracht/core
,
@pracht/capabilities
and
@pracht/vite-plugin
always\nrelease together at one version (a Changesets
fixed
group): upgrade them to\nthe same version. Every other package is independently versioned —\n
@pracht/cli
is on 1.x while core is on 0.x — so there is no \"one framework\nversion\". Two consequences:
\n
\n
Internal ranges stop at the minor. Published packages depend on their\nsiblings with caret ranges on 0.x (e.g.
@pracht/core: ^0.20.0
), and a 0.x\ncaret never crosses a minor.
@pracht/vite-plugin
, the adapters,\n
@pracht/session
,
@pracht/i18n
,
@pracht/query
, and
@pracht/test
take\n
@pracht/core
as a peer, so upgrading core past their range fails with\n
ERESOLVE
under npm and warns under pnpm; forcing it through\n(
--legacy-peer-deps
,
--force
) can install a second core that splits the\nruntime. Upgrade the whole family in one move.
\n
Most packages are 0.x, so under semver a minor bump may be breaking —\ntreat
### Minor Changes
entries on 0.x packages with the same care as\nmajors.
\n
\n
After any upgrade, confirm a single core resolution:
\n

pnpm why @pracht/core # exactly one version may appear\n

\n
Step 3: Read the changelogs between installed and target
\n
Only
@pracht/cli
ships
CHANGELOG.md
in its npm tarball\n(
node_modules/@pracht/cli/CHANGELOG.md
); the other packages publish
dist/
\nonly. Fetch their changelogs from the repo instead:
\n

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JoviDeCroock/pracht/main/packages/<dir>/CHANGELOG.md\n

\n
\n
\n
\n
Package
\n
Repo directory
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n

@pracht/core

\n

packages/framework

\n
\n
\n

@pracht/cli

\n

packages/cli

\n
\n
\n

@pracht/vite-plugin

\n

packages/vite-plugin

\n
\n
\n

@pracht/adapter-node
/
-cloudflare
/
-netlify
/
-vercel
/
-static

\n

packages/adapter-*

\n
\n
\n

@pracht/preact-ssr-precompile

\n

packages/preact-ssr-precompile

\n
\n
\n

@pracht/capabilities

\n

packages/capabilities

\n
\n
\n

@pracht/content

\n

packages/content

\n
\n
\n

@pracht/markdown

\n

packages/markdown

\n
\n
\n

@pracht/openapi

\n

packages/openapi

\n
\n
\n

@pracht/image

\n

packages/image

\n
\n
\n

@pracht/i18n

\n

packages/i18n

\n
\n
\n

@pracht/session

\n

packages/session

\n
\n
\n

@pracht/test

\n

packages/test

\n
\n
\n

create-pracht

\n

packages/start

\n
\n
\n
\n
Changelogs are changesets-generated:
## X.Y.Z
sections containing\n
### Major Changes
/
### Minor Changes
/
### Patch Changes
. Read every\nsection between the installed and target version of every installed package.
\n
Step 4: Map changes onto this app
\n
Classify each entry as breaking / feature / fix. For each breaking\n(or 0.x minor) entry, grep the app for the APIs, exports, config options, and\ngenerated-file shapes it names, and record: affected files, the migration the\nchangelog prescribes, and whether it can be applied mechanically. Also\nre-check peer ranges after a major target bump —
@pracht/vite-plugin
\nrequires
vite
(^8),
@pracht/adapter-cloudflare
requires
vite
and\n
wrangler
(^4.81),
@pracht/core
requires
preact
(^10) and\n
preact-render-to-string
(^6.7).
\n
Present the plan as a table:
\n
\n
\n
\n
Package
\n
Installed → Target
\n
Breaking entries
\n
App impact
\n
Migration
\n
\n
\n
\n
Step 5: Confirm, then apply
\n
Use
AskUserQuestion
before touching anything when breaking migrations are\nrequired: confirm the target versions and which migrations to apply. Then:
\n

pnpm up '@pracht/core@<v>' '@pracht/cli@<v>' '@pracht/vite-plugin@<v>' <adapters...>\n

\n
Upgrade every installed
@pracht/*
package in the same command. Apply the\nagreed code migrations with minimal diffs, one changelog entry at a time.\nThen read the page behind each changed API with
pracht docs <topic>
, which\nserves the docs bundled with the newly installed CLI. A CLI without that\ncommand predates it; use https://pracht.resynapse.dev/llms.txt instead.
\n
Step 6: Verification ladder
\n
Run in order; stop and fix at the first failure:
\n

pracht doctor --json # wiring still valid\npracht typegen --check # generated route types up to date?\npracht typegen # regenerate if --check failed or routes changed\npracht verify --json # framework-aware checks\npnpm typecheck # both tsconfig programs, if the app has the script\npracht build # full production build (budgets included)\npnpm test # the app's own suite\n

\n

pracht doctor
,
verify
, and
typegen --check
exit non-zero on failure, so\nthey gate CI cleanly. Act on doctor warnings too:
pnpm up
never touches\nfiles
create-pracht
wrote, so a warning is how an older scaffold learns it\nneeds a config change — for example adding
\"src/**/*.d.ts\"
to the\n
include
of
tsconfig.client.json
, without which typed route hooks are\n
unknown
in client code and
<Link route>
accepts any string.
\n
Step 7: Rollback note
\n
If the ladder cannot be made green, roll back rather than shipping a\nhalf-upgrade:
\n

git restore package.json pnpm-lock.yaml && pnpm install\ngit checkout -- <migrated files>   # or revert the upgrade commit\n

\n
Because internal ranges stop at the minor, a partial rollback (one package\nback, the rest forward) hits the peer conflicts or duplicate core from Step 2 —\nroll the whole family back together.
\n
Rules
\n
\n
Never mix
@pracht/*
versions from different release waves — upgrade and\nroll back the family as a unit, and verify with
pnpm why @pracht/core
.
\n
Read changelogs before installing, not after something breaks.
\n
Never apply a breaking-change migration without explicit user confirmation\nvia
AskUserQuestion
.
\n
Treat 0.x minor bumps as potentially breaking.
\n
Do not hand-edit lockfiles; let the package manager resolve.
\n
\n
$ARGUMENTS
\n","files":[{"path":"SKILL.md","sizeBytes":7282,"isText":true}],"reviewScore":null,"reviewSummary":null,"trust":{"provenance":"trusted-source-unreviewed","notice":"Community-authored content, reproduced verbatim and not vetted as instructions.
