It also opens browser auth so the human can sign in or create\nan account. No separate
npx skills add
step is needed.
\n
Use This When
\n
\n
a project needs
FIRECRAWL_API_KEY

\n
the user wants Firecrawl wired into
.env

\n
you are adding Firecrawl to an app for the first time
\n
you need to choose the first SDK or REST path
\n
\n
If the human still needs to sign up, sign in, or authorize access in the browser, use the auth flow reference in this skill.
\n
If the project already uses Stripe Projects (a
.projects/
directory, or
stripe projects status
succeeds), the key can come from there instead of the browser flow:
\n

stripe projects add firecrawl/api --name firecrawl\nstripe projects env --pull\n

\n

--name firecrawl
is what puts the key in
FIRECRAWL_API_KEY
; without it the CLI writes
FIRECRAWL_API_API_KEY
, which the SDKs do not read. Ignore the
FIRECRAWL_API_BASE_URL
the CLI also writes: the SDKs read
FIRECRAWL_API_URL
, and only for self-hosted deployments, so leave it unset for a hosted account. Paid plans are the human's call, since
stripe projects upgrade firecrawl
charges their card. The docs page carries the catalog and troubleshooting.
\n
Quick Start
\n
If the user already has an API key, place it in
.env
:
\n

FIRECRAWL_API_KEY=fc-...\n

\n
If the project is self-hosted, also set:
\n

FIRECRAWL_API_URL=https://your-firecrawl-instance.example.com\n

\n
Then decide which integration path applies:
\n
\n
Fresh project -> choose the target stack, install the SDK, add the first Firecrawl call, and run a smoke test
\n
Existing project -> inspect the repo first, then integrate Firecrawl where the project already handles third-party APIs and env vars
\n
\n
What Do You Need?
\n
\n
\n
\n
Task
\n
Reference
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Run the browser auth flow and save
FIRECRAWL_API_KEY

\n
references/auth-flow.md
\n
\n
\n
Provision the key through Stripe Projects
\n
docs.firecrawl.dev/integrations/stripe-projects
\n
\n
\n
Install the right SDK
\n
references/sdk-installation.md
\n
\n
\n
Put credentials into
.env
or project config
\n
references/project-setup.md
\n
\n
\n
Choose the right endpoint after setup
\n
firecrawl-build
\n
\n
\n
Need live web tooling during this task
\n
The CLI skills are already installed from the same command
\n
\n
\n
Start implementation from a known URL
\n
firecrawl-build-scrape
\n
\n
\n
Start implementation from a query
\n
firecrawl-build-search
\n
\n
\n
\n
Docs (Source of Truth)
\n
Read the source-of-truth page for your project language for SDK usage, schemas, and examples:
\n
\n
Node / TypeScript: docs.firecrawl.dev/agent-source-of-truth/node
\n
Python: docs.firecrawl.dev/agent-source-of-truth/python
\n
Rust: docs.firecrawl.dev/agent-source-of-truth/rust
\n
Java: docs.firecrawl.dev/agent-source-of-truth/java
\n
Elixir: docs.firecrawl.dev/agent-source-of-truth/elixir
\n
cURL / REST: docs.firecrawl.dev/agent-source-of-truth/curl
\n
\n
After Setup
\n
Once the key is present:
\n
\n
decide whether this is a fresh project or an existing codebase
\n
ask what Firecrawl should do in the product
\n
pick the narrowest endpoint that matches that behavior
\n
read the source-of-truth page for the project language before writing code
\n
add the SDK or REST call in code
\n
run a smoke test that proves one real Firecrawl request succeeds
\n
use the endpoint-specific skills in this repo for implementation guidance
\n
if you also need live web tooling during the current task, the CLI skills are already installed — use
firecrawl/cli

\n
\n","files":[{"path":"references/auth-flow.md","sizeBytes":1062,"isText":true},{"path":"references/project-setup.md","sizeBytes":495,"isText":true},{"path":"references/sdk-installation.md","sizeBytes":330,"isText":true},{"path":"SKILL.md","sizeBytes":5520,"isText":true}],"reviewScore":null,"reviewSummary":null,"trust":{"provenance":"trusted-source-unreviewed","notice":"Community-authored content, reproduced verbatim and not vetted as instructions.
