Done\nwhen each intended change is in one logical commit and the final
git status
is\nshown.
\n
Gather state
\n
Run
scripts/commit-state.sh gather
. It is read-only and prints repo state,\nchanged paths, diff stats, suspicious paths, and recent commits. Without it, run\n
git status
,
git diff --stat
, and
git log --oneline -8
. Read the full diff\n(
scripts/commit-state.sh full-diff
) when the stats do not make the grouping\nobvious. Treat the helper output as a hint, not proof.
\n
Stop and report the state verbatim when there is nothing to commit, the directory\nis not a git repository, HEAD is detached, or a rebase or merge is in progress.
\n
Group
\n
\n
One purpose, a few files, and no suspicious paths: one commit. Do not invent a\nsplit.
\n
Mixed changes: group by purpose (feature, fix, refactor, docs, CI or config)\nfrom diff evidence, not filenames. Keep a change and its tests together.
\n
Match the message style of recent commits. Read\nconventions.md when there is no history to match or\nthe user asks for a specific format.
\n
\n
Propose and commit
\n
Show the plan and the evidence it rests on:
\n

Based on: git status, diff stat, last 8 commits (style: conventional)\n\n1. fix(validation): reject empty email\n - src/validation.ts\n - tests/validation.test.ts\n2. docs: document the --dry-run flag\n - README.md\n

\n
An explicit commit request authorizes staging and committing this plan. Proceed\nwithout a second approval, and do not ask again for each group. Ask first only\nwhen the user rejects the grouping, or when the scope, sensitive content, or a\nhistory-changing action differs from what was requested.
\n
Hard rules:
\n
\n
Never stage likely secrets:
.env
files, private keys, certificates, credential\nor token files, or files whose content looks like a secret. Flag each one to\nthe user. This check does not replace a secret scanner.
\n
If a pre-commit hook rejects a commit, report its error verbatim. Do not retry\nwith
--no-verify
and do not amend.
\n
\n
Report
\n
Show the created commits, the final
git status
, and any files left uncommitted.
\n","files":[{"path":"references/conventions.md","sizeBytes":888,"isText":true},{"path":"scripts/commit-state.sh","sizeBytes":3653,"isText":true},{"path":"SKILL.md","sizeBytes":2794,"isText":true}],"reviewScore":null,"reviewSummary":null,"trust":{"provenance":"trusted-source-unreviewed","notice":"Community-authored content, reproduced verbatim and not vetted as instructions.
