This\nskill goes one step further: for each advisory, it tells you which routes\nand APIs touch the vulnerable code path so you can prioritize and write\ntargeted regression tests after upgrading.
\n
Prerequisites:
pracht inspect
requires a vite config that registers the\npracht plugin.
\n
Step 1: Run the audit
\n
Detect the package manager from the lockfile in repo root; for yarn,\ndisambiguate Classic vs Berry via the
packageManager
field in\n
package.json
(fall back to
yarn --version
):
\n
\n
\n
\n
Lockfile
\n
Manager
\n
Command
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n

pnpm-lock.yaml

\n
pnpm
\n

pnpm audit --json

\n
\n
\n

package-lock.json

\n
npm
\n

npm audit --json

\n
\n
\n

yarn.lock

\n
yarn Classic (
yarn@1.x
)
\n

yarn audit --json

\n
\n
\n

yarn.lock

\n
yarn Berry (
yarn@2+
)
\n

yarn npm audit --json --recursive

\n
\n
\n

bun.lockb
/
bun.lock

\n
bun
\n

bun audit --json
(if available; otherwise note as gap)
\n
\n
\n
\n
Capture the JSON. Track each advisory: package, severity, range, fixed-in.
\n
Step 2: Resolve \"which package depends on the vulnerable one\"
\n
For transitive vulns, the direct importer matters more than the leaf. Use the\npackage manager:
\n

pnpm why <package>\n# or\nnpm ls <package>\n

\n
Capture the dependency chain. The first non-pracht-internal direct dependency\nis the one the user owns.
\n
Step 3: Map to routes/APIs
\n
MCP: when the pracht MCP server is registered (
pracht dev-mcp
), prefer its\n
inspect_routes
/
inspect_api
/
inspect_build
/
doctor
/
verify
tools over\nshelling out.
\n
For each direct dependency identified in step 2:
\n
\n
Grep
src/
for
import .* from \"<dep>\"
and
require(\"<dep>\")
.
\n
Classify each hit file against the resolved graph — do NOT classify by\ndirectory convention (pages mode uses a configurable
pagesDir
, and app\nlayout is not fixed). From
pracht inspect routes --json
, match the hit\nagainst each route's
file
,
loaderFile
, and
shellFile
; resolve\n
middleware
names to files via the
defineApp({ middleware })
map in the\nmanifest. From
pracht inspect api --json
, match against each API route's\n
file
.
\n
A hit that matches none of those is a shared module — trace its importers\nupward until you reach a route, loader, shell, middleware, or API file\nfrom the graph.
\n
\n
This produces a \"blast radius\" per advisory.
\n
Step 4: Categorize urgency
\n
For each advisory, score:
\n
\n
\n
\n
Factor
\n
Weight
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Advisory severity (
critical
/
high
/
moderate
/
low
)
\n
base
\n
\n
\n
Reachable from a request handler
\n
+1 tier
\n
\n
\n
Reachable from an unauthenticated route
\n
+1 tier
\n
\n
\n
Reachable only from build scripts / dev tools
\n
-1 tier
\n
\n
\n
\n
Build scripts that never ship to runtime (e.g., a Vite plugin used only at\nbuild time) are lower priority than a package imported into a production\nloader.
\n
Step 5: Report
\n
Report severity is the primary scale —
error
(critical/high reachable from\nruntime),
warn
(moderate, or high but build-time only),
info
(low, or\nunreachable) — with the advisory's own severity as a secondary column:
\n

## error\n\n- <pkg> @ <version> — advisory: <severity> — <CVE>\n Direct importer: <dep>\n Reachable from:\n - GET /api/users (src/api/users.ts)\n - SSR /dashboard (src/routes/dashboard.tsx → src/server/db.ts)\n Fix: upgrade to <range>\n Test after upgrade: <list of routes/APIs above>\n

\n
End with a one-line verdict:
N critical, N high, N moderate, N low — N reachable from runtime
.
\n
Step 6: Recommend the upgrade
\n
This skill is report-only — do not run any install or upgrade command. For\neach fix:
\n
\n
If the direct dependency has a non-breaking range covering the fix:\nrecommend running
pnpm up <dep>
(or the equivalent for the detected\npackage manager).
\n
If a major bump is required: link to the package's CHANGELOG and recommend\na deliberate migration.
\n
Recommend running
pnpm test
and the route-targeted tests derived from\nstep 3 after any upgrade.
\n
\n
Rules
\n
\n
Always determine the direct importer; transitive-only output is unhelpful.
\n
Distinguish runtime vs. build-time exposure — they have very different\nurgency.
\n
Do not run any upgrade; propose commands only. The user applies them.
\n
If the audit tool reports zero advisories, still note the package counts\nand lockfile age — staleness is a precursor to advisories.
\n
Cross-reference with
pre-deploy
before shipping any post-upgrade build.
\n
\n
$ARGUMENTS
\n","files":[{"path":"SKILL.md","sizeBytes":5153,"isText":true}],"reviewScore":null,"reviewSummary":null,"trust":{"provenance":"trusted-source-unreviewed","notice":"Community-authored content, reproduced verbatim and not vetted as instructions.
